Receiving
Receiving is one of the most overlooked areas in most warehouses. It is however, one of the most important. It's hard to maintain a valid inventory if you don't get the product received correctly. IMS's wireless receiving module provides the following features to help ensure accurate receiving data is collected.
The system provides the following functions:
- Interfaces with your host purchasing system to extract purchase or production orders to be received or transferred.
- Validates each item as it is received to insure the item is on the PO.
- Can read any vendors' barcode label so no re-labeling is required.
- Generates pallet and case labels as needed.
- Random weight items are validated to ensure the weight received is reasonable for the item.
- Keeps a complete audit trail of each receipt down to the box level if desired.
- Increases the speed and accuracy of receiving with on-line editing and error detection.
- Interfaces to any host system to provide receipt information.
- Can validate product life remaining and warn the receiver of potential short shelf life problems.
- Provides for manual overrides for products without barcodes.
- Interfaces to the IMS warehouse system to do both manual and automatic slotting of product.
- Interfaces to IMS's inventory system to track inventory at the item, lot, slot and pallet levels.
- Validates put away of product to ensure the product is placed in the correct location.
